This was a beautiful conversation between the two of you! You touched on so many important themes. I especially liked the idea of a sex positive family book to teach parents to be comfortable discussing sex with their children. Don't know if one already exists but it's a great idea.
I'm a little bit of an anomaly towards my attitudes and openness to discussing sex because of the progressive beliefs of my mother. I remember this very clearly... at age 4 she pulled me aside and told me all about it. My older sister was hearing things at school and my mother didn't want me learning about it from her.
Aside from my Dad, we were a house of all girls. I think that also helped keep the communication (and if I'm honest, sex jokes) flowing.
