The cool down and stretch has become a scheduled part of my fitness plan. It always feel great to spend a few extra minutes letting my body recalibrate.
When we went to Wimbledon a couple of years ago, we ended up meeting Greg Rusedski, a former world top 10. He's in his early 50s. Said his workout time is spent more on the warm-up and cool-down than the actual "workout" itself!
One of the CrossFits I dropped in at regularly actually built in cool down into the hour. You didn't leave until you did the cool down. It wasn't required but the owners/coaches kinda made it as though it was.
This has become my favorite part of my pilates workout! I always spend a few minutes stretching and relaxing afterward; I feel like my workout "sets in" when I do this.
Yeah, so much about the workout process for me is mental and a little emotional (especially if I'm struggling to get through it). So having the "sets in" check box moment resonates.

Guilty as charged. Sadly I rarely cool down or pause between activities. A great reminder.
