Spot on article-hate is hate and should not be tolerated. UCSB and all perpetrators should be held accountable for their actions, and inaction. Thank you, Jill, for your persistence in calling them out for tolerating antisemitism and not protecting Jewish students.
Thank you, Jill for the article and the letter. Every word is spot on. Was reading your letter and reliving Tessa's anguish in the past few month.
I remember how she was telling me about her frustration at the ignorance and disconnect to what she was going thru when she was asking for help and support from the school administration. Once in return she was asked "what do you expect us to do?". I personally lived thru the very similar experience, but in the different country and in the different century. Seeing this again is just incomprehensible.
Thanks, Mrs. Veksler, for your response. I'm sure this has been horrible in the sense of you left your previous country to escape this very thing. It's maddening and frustrating. I know many of the Gaucho alums are outraged about what has happened and are pushing for transparency and change. As Tessa said on IG, actions speak louder than words.
Great article. Perfectly articulates how I feel about the widespread antisemitism Jewish people are feeling across the world. Appreciate the information that you sharing with your readers.
Appreciate the support from everyone. The lack of moral clarity and courage to do the right thing around antisemitism from people who are given the title of 'leader' is appalling.
I'll also add that higher education in the US is on a downward spiral. We are no longer able to have a civilized discussion or debate to understand nuances in differing perspectives.
As someone in tech, I am used to the navel gazing. But now I see higher education may have a larger navel gazing problem than tech, which is quite a high bar.

Always appreciate your support on all fronts, Lisa.

Can't stop. Won't stop.
Thank you for your actions, your words, and for sharing both with your readers. I stand with you.
Your consistent support through "all of the things" makes me fortunate to have you in my corner.
Likewise - and always here for you. 💪
