Challenge: Identify how food may align with an emotional trigger
Client Win This Week
“I said I couldn’t work late this week and didn’t say why bc I’m taking back my time.”
Survey Still Open
If you haven’t filled it out yet, I would greatly appreciate your help with a quick, less-than-5-minute survey to gather your input on the topics you'd like Go Long to cover. My aim is to tailor content that interests you and to deliver it in the most convenient formats. The survey is completely anonymous unless you choose to provide your email at the end.
Challenge of the Week
I sent out last week’s challenge of the week on Saturday to eschew all of the news “crazy” and lasted until Biden’s announcement. So just over 24 hours. Hmmm.
Let’s go to this week’s challenge - Identify how food may align with an emotional trigger of yours. Track what is going on, including what led to the trigger.
Go Long in the Wild!
On LinkedIn, I talked about how it was “great” that the Wall Street Journal finally reported on the fact that women are working more than ever. The workforce is seeing a surge in female participation, but there’s a hidden cost. Women over 40 are juggling two jobs: their professional careers and the relentless demands at home, including taking care of parents. This dual responsibility often leads to burnout, particularly for women in business, affecting all aspects of health - physical, mental and emotional.
Check out the quick clip below from the “Legal Journeys for Women 40"+” discussion with Miya Nazzaro. You can find the full discussion here.

How Constantly Dieting Leads to Burnout
Thanks again to Jenn Edmonds of Jenn Edmonds Coaching, for sharing her insights on practical steps on making self-care more of a priority. Here’s a snippet.
Finally, be kind to yourself. Perfection isn’t the goal; consistency is. If you miss a workout or have an unhealthy meal, don’t dwell on it. Acknowledge it, learn from it, and move on. Celebrate your progress and recognize the effort you’re putting into maintaining a healthy lifestyle despite a busy schedule. Something is always better than nothing. The key is to just stay in the game!
Myth Monday
This week’s Myth Monday was about soy and its value as a protein source. Dr. Jill talked about how outdated studies negatively changed the perception of soy being a good source of protein. Watch below!
