Now that we’re past Thanksgiving and barreling forward to the new year, let’s take this opportunity to talk about what’s in store for 2024 for Go Long’s Substack (aka blog).
Podcasts
I know. Many of you said I should start a podcast and I said “hard pass.” I said I’d rather be on other people’s podcasts. This is true. It’s much less work for me.
BUT…… I’m finding some of the conversations I am having with experts can be of benefit to all of you in a different medium. I’m always game to experiment.
Some of the topics that I am currently talking to experts about coming on the “Anti-Podcast” podcast include:
Dental health
Diet and nutrition (I’m going to cover this from multiple angles with multiple guests)
Physical health (again, different kinds of experts here - physical therapists, movement coaches, medical doctors, etc.)
Financial health (retirement, Medicare - what to know to help your parents, assisted living - what to know to help your parents, college financial aid, etc.)
Emotional health (different kids of therapists/coaches - executive, couples, personal, etc.)
College admission planning
Other topics - more on this below!
Go Long is going to focus on being as inclusive as possible in these discussions with respect to gender, race, sexual orientation and ethnicity.
The podcasts will be in addition to some of the shorter videos released so far such as the “Grab ‘n Go’s”, which are under a minute.
All podcast recordings will have written transcripts. Speaking of written….
Is the written content going away?
No, the written content will be continuing. Depending on the uptake of the podcast episodes and other video content, the frequency of written posts will be at least once per week, if not twice.
The content will be similar to the topics covered with Go Long’s podcast guests, but from a different angle.
With the written work, I’ll be able to go a bit deeper on technical topics that you may want to reference at a later date. When I say ‘technical’, I am talking about posts such as these:
How I am giving the middle finger to my auto-immune diseases
What channels is Go Long using for content?
In addition to Go Long’s website, social media activity takes place mostly on Substack and on LinkedIn. Here are some other places you can find Go Long:
I’m working on getting the pod on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Please give a follow on all of the channels you consume media on!
You should expect to see Go Long posting more frequently on all of these channels in 2024. And as mentioned above, the content will be in varying lengths depending on how much time you have to consume media.
Let’s hear it for 30% off for new subscribers
If you are a free or a monthly paid subscriber, this is a great time to upgrade to an annual plan. Why?
I’m offering a special deal in honor of our annual holiday party called “Beck the Halls”.
30% off of the annual subscription price of $70, which comes to $49 per year!
What benefits come with this deal?
Full archive of posts and podcasts (effective 2024, I’m going to put certain posts and podcasts behind the paywall)
Opportunity to submit questions in advance for special guests coming on the “anti-podcast” podcast (your name will be kept confidential)
Suggest areas of expertise you would like to learn more about for the blog and the podcast
One 30-minute wellness consulting session to use through January 31, 2024, which will help you with realistic goal setting for the year
By the way, you becoming a paid subscriber allows me more time to go deep on topics that matter to you, such as producing the podcasts and writing about all of the bullshit that goes with perimenopause!
So if you’re considering “Getting into the Groove” for the rest of 2023 into 2024, you’re going to want to snatch this deal. It expires on December 9, 2023.
If you’re already a paid annual subscriber when this post goes live, you’re going to get all of the above and a special offer from me, which I’ll contact you directly about.
