Hi Jill, thank you for sharing your journey. This really resonated with me. Autoimmune diseases disproportionately affect women, yet they remain woefully underfunded and overlooked. This imbalance is one of the reasons I focus on investing in women’s health innovation and on a mission to channel more capital (private and institutional) into women's health—because we need better solutions, more research, and the attention these challenges deserve. Your post highlights the power of small, thoughtful adjustments, and what I take away from it is a reminder that every step forward, no matter how small, is meaningful. Thank you again for sharing your journey—it’s inspiring and deeply needed.

If my journey can help others, LFG! No one talked about autoimmune when I was diagnosed so it was tons of trial and error with docs learning as I was learning.

Thanks for what you are doing to channel more funds to these areas. I am very concerned what this may look like over the next 4 years and how this will set things back.

And then you have maternal mortality for Black women, which I have also written about. That is woefully understudied. If someone like Serena Williams isn't believed when they have health complications postpartum, then pretty much every other Black woman doesn't have a chance of being heard.

I hear you Jill. In my work with founders tackling women’s health, there are so many stories I hear. For example - stories of women with endometriosis who are not believed when they say they are in pain. The world needs better solutions for women’s health - not just for women but the society at large. And we all have a part to play to raise the awareness, and support the founders with smart capital. Thank you for doing what you do!
