Worried about staying on track with your health goals during the holidays?

Go Long has a plan for that....

[Estimated listening time: 2 minutes, 00 seconds.]

I recently posted something around the importance of not just having a goal, but having a plan for how you’re going to achieve your goal. If you don’t have a system for how you going to meet, or even exceed, your goal, then it’s unlikely you’ll be successful.

If you watch or listen to the above video, you’ll hear about a concern I am hearing quite a bit about from my clients.

How to deal with the holidays and staying on track with health and wellness habits developed during the year.

Does that sound like you as well?

Earlier this week, I was at a work related dinner. It was at a restaurant I knew had lots of things I wanted to try.

I went into the event with goals and a plan to support those goals. Here were my goals:

  1. Get home early enough so I can get enough sleep. This would allow me to have a good workout the next morning.

  2. Eat what I wanted to eat without giving it much thought.

  3. Have fun with my fellow attendees!

What did I need to do to make that possible:

  1. Gave myself a time cut-off beforehand so I could get home at a reasonable time.

  2. Focused on healthy eating choices the day before and the day of.

  3. Limited myself to one alcoholic beverage and drank plenty of water.

I apply this strategy to not just work events, but to engagements with family and friends. Vacations. You name it.

Why?

My health goals matter to me. But if I am going to be out with whichever group I am with, I want to be focused on engaging with everyone. I don’t want to be thinking too much about avoiding proverbial minefields or beating myself up for making certain choices.

In any event, I have heard about this so much from clients that Go Long has a special “microaccountability” offering for the upcoming holiday season. We’ll also have some add-on options for all of you.

It’ll help keep you on track while still enjoying the holidays. I’ll be there side by side with you as you deal with all of the stressors.

And you won’t feel as though you are starting from below ground zero when the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2024!

The formal offering will be announced next week with special pricing through Black Friday. Then the price will go up.

Have a great weekend!
