How does the popular show "Indian Matchmaker" relate to "Go Long"?
Once you trust someone to filter for you, it saves you loads of time, and by extension, money.

Quick note: The Go Long website is up! I’d love for you to check it out, offer some feedback, and/or share it with people whom you think it would resonate with. We’re also now on LinkedIn. Give us a follow and a shout-out, if you’re inclined.
The Atlantic recently published an article on how matchmaking is making a comeback in the dating realm. “Indian Matchmaking”, which is on Netflix and has a large viewership, received a mention. I've heard about this show a few times since I started Go Long. These folks are seeing parallels between what the matchmaker does on the show vs. what Go Long is doing for clients.
I debated quite a bit on being known as a “concierge” or a “matchmaker”. I received plenty of feedback on both - positive and negative. I went with a concierge. Go Long is here to match clients up with a service provider that works for their needs. So, sure, I’m a matchmaker.
When I was reading this article, so many parallels came up on why people are choosing a matchmaker as opposed to using a dating app. Obviously you need to have the funds to hire a matchmaker instead of using a more affordable option such as an app. Apps give you agency with you calling all the shots. This also applies to wellness apps.
For example, do you want alerts from your Apple Watch to move more? Or do you want to track metrics in an app at your leisure with zero prompts throughout the day?
What I’m hearing more and more from people is they need to get time back in their days. A matchmaker, if you will, allows someone else to take the wheel. They deal with the filtering (aka interviewing prospective "dates”). Then you have some time back to do things that matter more to you.
Are you one of those people who wants to invest more time in yourself but are unsure how to go about it?
Searching for a coach (or dating) is a time consuming activity. If you’re trying to find a coach that is a great fit for you, that takes even more time because you have to know the right questions to ask AND have the time to ask them. And you need to keep your biases out of the analysis. For something as personal as wellness, that's tricky.
Furthermore if you’re using an app (or apps) for your wellness whether it be sleep, stress, fitness and/or nutrition, you’re entering in data hoping it’s going to tell you something profound or insightful. So you have more control, but you spend more time being a slave to the tech. AND…. you’re left guessing if the program you’re using is the right fit for you.
Sounds like some dating apps I have heard about. Fortunately I met the hubs before that all became "a thing".
Go Long has a thorough process where we methodically narrow down the list of coaches for you to work with.
It's based on your goals, interests, values and what has not worked in the past. It’s about understanding your day-to-day life.
The good.
The bad.
And the ugly.
Because that’s how life works.
Having Go Long by your side gives you an empathetic human who works to understand you and your struggles today. Then we come up with a pragmatic plan on how you can achieve the goals you would like. And we do it in a way that is going to keep you optimistic for your future.
This saves you time and money. I mean, let’s face it - time is money for many of us.
When you go to the personal trainer at the local gym, you may “luck out” and get someone good. But my research shows people, and women in particular, quit within 3-6 months. Why?
Because they don’t feel listened to. WTF?
So that’s not only money, but time, wasted. You get discouraged and abandon the effort. Or you now have to find someone new and start from scratch with them. Both of those activities are costly from a time perspective, which you don't have much of.
You deserve better.
You can think of Go Long as a concierge or a matchmaker. But the point is you deserve to have a customized regimen for what you need. It evolves as you evolve. Unlike an app, Go Long helps you in understanding why certain coaches may be a better fit for you than others. Or why you may prefer a virtual program over an in-person program. It could be how to differentiate between soreness and legitimate pain. Go Long covers those things, and more, with you.
Many of our clients are people who are very successful professionally and personally. They have navigated some very complex situations with some pretty intimidating characters. They have great people skills. Yet they also talk about the fear and insecurity they have walking into a gym. They know they need to do strength training and have no idea what to do near the weight rack. This applies to all genders.
It’s a very uncomfortable feeling.
They feel very vulnerable.
I know, because I have been there.
Go Long guides you through that process of picking the right coach to work with, regardless of the area. Fitness, nutrition, sleep, stress, financial. You name it. We may find someone for you that you may not have thought of because we know of the different options out there. We’re doing the homework for you!
The Atlantic article concludes with a story about a person who used a matchmaking service. They have been dating someone for awhile and they are happy. They also add they never would have chosen this person on a dating app based on some preconceived biases. It ends with:
“She hasn’t gotten rid of the essential perk [of the matchmaking service]: the gift of not needing to know exactly what you want, because you’re not making decisions alone.”
That’s what Go Long offers. We’re here side-by-side with you to help you make a decision even when you’re not 100% sure what you want in this journey.
Don’t make the same mistake again.
Let’s help you GO LONG.

Love this analogy. Labels are irrelevant. It’s the service and the result that matters.
