Talking about going slower to make more progress
Go Long kicked off the month talking about how going slower and taking it easier on your body from time to time can lead to more longevity gains:
It comes as no shock that we live in a culture that espouses to ‘go hard or go home’. When I was running and posting on social media, I had one friend in particular who always typed that in response to a run I did. CrossFit is representative of that ethos. I’ve also seen yoga classes where people compete on who can contort themselves into the craziest pose. It happens everywhere. But what if you didn’t need to trash your body during every workout in order to get the results you wanted?
Myth Monday
This week’s ‘Myth Monday’ was about the need to get “in shape” or lose weight before joining a gym. Listen for when the best time is to start a new or reboot a previous exercise regimen.
Challenge of the Week
If you’re someone who is always pushing it to the max in your workouts, try replacing one of your workout with easy movements such as a walk or gentle stretching. Or take an unexpected day of rest to allow your body more time to recover!
Thank you for spending time with Go Long. Your feedback and comments are always welcomed and appreciated.
Have a great weekend!
