19 Years, No Guilt: Why I’m Taking Most of This Week Off (And You Should Too)
Celebrating marriage, midlife, and the radical act of saying “not now for a few days” to the grind.
This morning started with a joint workout because we’re us and will continue with a jaunt to a place special to us to celebrate 19 years of us laughing at and with each other.
Today marks our wedding anniversary.
And this week? I’m calling it: I’m taking the week off(ish).
For someone who’s built a business around showing up and publishing consistently—this is a big deal. But showing up in life is the point, right?
So this week, I’m leaning into love, laughter, walks, wine, and all the good stuff that makes the grind worth it.
Now don’t go just yet.
This isn’t a disappearing act. I’ve got something coming for you.
What You Can Expect
If you’re new here (and there are quite a few of you—hi! 👋), Go Long has been running strong on Substack for over two years. 170+ posts in, this one makes 171.
In that time, I’ve launched coaching programs, met remarkable women in my community, and started a YouTube show quietly on the side. More on that later.
But this post?
This is just about permission. Mine. Yours.
If You Need It, Here’s Yours:
Take the damn nap.
Ignore the emails, texts and Slacks (yep, I went there - you know who you are).
Go slow.
Be present.
Sometimes setting a boundary is the most radical business move you can make.
PS — I’ve pre-scheduled another post to drop Sunday morning.
It’s a deep dive into the YouTube show we’ve been building quietly behind the scenes. Think: real talk, expert guests, no-fluff answers for women 40+. Stay tuned.
Have a great week!
Remember it’s your life. Go the distance. Go Long!
